Killing for punishment (After a proper investigation and trial have taken place) is not murder.

wether the law justifies it or not, its still not an absolute. if it was, the taking of ones life would ALWAYS be right or wrong regardless of what the law believes.

when a man murders his wifes sex freind, its murder, in every court ever. wether it be 1 or 2, its murder. and thats not in cold blood. shooting a man frrom acros a bridge with a sniper rifle becuas your captai told you to is kinda cold, or at least i think so.

War is totally different
and war has its own code of conduct.

So a man murders his wifes lover of course that is murder and it is also cold blood because that person is acting out of hate for another person.
A solider does not hate the individual he kills he hates the cause for which that person stands.

no. its not hate, its love for his wife. have you ever hated anyone. did you kill them.

I have loved more people than I have hated and yet I haven't killed anyone because of it. What about the man who kills wife and her lover is that out of love for her?

perhaps we are debating in different levels here.

what im trying to say is that if the taking of ones life was an absolute wrong, then it would be just plain wrong. regardless of any motives or consequensces or any other exeptions.
