The Predicted Sensation... |
Generally we predict where we will be (I'd guess) usually for the next second or two (this may change from person to person, or from event to event). This may mean we ready our ears for a guitar solo coming up in a song we're listening to, or, just being aware of visually spotted obstacles and readying ourselves to avoid them. Basically we predict something basic we will encounter, based on our perceptions, then use these predictions to ready ourselves (for action and perception). Being aware of this may further understanding of self and awareness. Your thoughts? (As I only thought of this today, I may have more to add later)

I think that being aware of actions that are ingrained in our processes, that no longer take thought, allow us to improve the result of that action if we desire to change it. I think being aware of how we react to things and why is self understanding.

I've thought more about this, and I think that you are only truly listening when you are predicting... This may be due to the interpretation needed to understand the speaker, and receiving their words appropriately. This may mean you may misunderstand someone if you incorrectly predict what they will say, etc. Your thoughts?

This is interesting. But what about the things you do so naturally and smoothly without thinking? And then when you think about it they tend to become awkward and not as natural? This is something you need to put into your equation.
