Letting it be... (thinker)
I think about a lot of stuff during my day, and occasionally mix my thoughts up. Innocent though it may seem, sometimes this creates difficult juxtapositions, which I call 'awkward thoughts'.

For some time I would have awkward thoughts, and just try and push them away mentally. Like a distasteful image, for example.

Recently, a technique I have tried is to just let the thought alone, and just work around it. Rather than trying to erase something that happened, I just put things in context around it, and realise why it is there, and what I truly meant at the time. Then I am able to move on...

For me, this technique has resulted in less anxiety over the awkward thoughts... The only problem is when I get a 'double awkward thought' which argues against reason. Oh well, you can't win them all...

(Just realised. I first posted here three years ago today...)
