Did you notice I left out a (y) in you above...? Did it seem to matter or was it viewed as an "HONEST" mistake...?

Consider and Picture it like this to get my meaning...
A selective Censure... Some things get through on the "TV, News, Newspaper, etc. etc."
He/she censures selectively those comments or informations that contradict their point most virulently... effectively weakening the delivery of complete honesty or news or truth...
The effect is to lessen the recoil... or response obviously (to me)
Hearing about a bullet is not the same as hearing one... or a few... and definately not the same as seeing the weapon and dodgeing them...
what if the weapon is hidden, the weapon is silenced?
From far enough away the silenced weapon won't even make the sonic boom until the bullet has hit its target...
Believe me, this I do know from experiences...
In this last situation... you would have to survive by luck or by the lack of skill of the enemy...
