It is not the actual death that people fear but the time leading up to and time right before death that people fear for when you are dead you will not be able to or have the cabability to care that you are dead. - Chilltime55

Scanning and the Direct…

Scanning and the Direct…
This is another thing I have experienced and will try to explain in my own words…

The senses scan for information, and such scanning refreshes the sensing of the older information…

Once scanned information is able to be viewed directly by the mind, by it's ability to detect that which is direct. Most of direct viewing is based upon the senses continually looking or listening in one direction (that which would be the most immediate)…

When something indirect is viewed it is often copied and brought to the forefront, where it's copy is more directly viewed…

Using vision as an example…
When you first open your eyes the short-term memory (which is more specific) is involved with scanning the visual field as well as refreshing the older visual field…
The scanning allows for the long-term memory (which is more general) to ‘kick-in' and hold the memory of that particular sense. The long-term memory comes from the remains of the short-term memory and does not depend upon scanning directly…

The practical aspects of this would be in noticing how the scanning of the senses work (particularly in sight and imagination) as well as the scanning involved in the reception of one's own thoughts…

One particular exercise you can try is…
…closing your eyes for a few seconds…
…then, open your eyes…
…then notice how the eye scans for information and what it pays particular attention to…
You may notice how it looks for ‘up' and ‘down', as well as ‘near' and ‘far'…
You may notice how it finds the right colours and shapes of objects…
You may notice how it picks up on objects of relevance…
These are all things that do also use the help of the mind to retrieve…

Please respond to this thread if you have anything to add or if you have seen this kind of thing before somewhere…
