Captain cynic what can I say?
What words of wit or wisdom can I convey?
What new thread of conversation can we weave in today?
Will it be funny or dull and blase?
Will it warrant a comeback and who will reply?
Will it be read with a tear in the eye?
Or just with a groan, a guffaw or a sigh.
Who cares if it s nonsense
who cares if its tat
lets just waffle insanely
and say that is that.
