Fat Man and Little Boy |
***Dedicated to the fallen soldiers and civilians of all sides in all wars.***
Fallen bodies in the mud
Tattered clothes soaked through with blood
Overhead the clouds grow gray
As shattered souls are borne away
While here on earth surviving friends
Will never see loved ones again
A ray of light seen here or there
Slices through the atmosphere
But does not shine upon the scene
Of mangled corpses sick and lean
Meanwhile many miles east
Men sit down to kingly feasts
And as they laugh and dance and sing
Lives are torn, hearts shattering
The music plays as hearts are severed
Mixing joy and together
And sent up with the fallen rain:
Forgotten memories of the slain.
