Yes, the movie has no point, no moral, no lesson. It's completely absurd. That's why I love it. It makes no sense. You have no idea why people are doing what they're doing.
I watched the 1963 BBC version of the Hitchhiker's Guide and hated it. It was drawn out at every point in the movie. That's why I like reading the book. But I think Disney will make sure that it's full of action and childish songs. But I am just dying to see Marvin. "Do you see that door? It gets complete satisfaction just opening for you. How pathetic." And how about this one:
Zyphoid:Marvin, go bring the intruders.
Marvin: I have the intelligence the size of a planet and I am told to go pick up the intruders?
My all-time favorite is "Life. Don't talk to me about life."
