Does the goverment have rights to penalis those it

The goverment assumes responsibilitie for individual with it being a welfare state ( Britian). It apparantly "tries" to keep its people in an almost resonable standard of living right? In return for this supposed state of living we are expected to obbay the law and accept the fact that if we commit a crime we are to be penalised in accordance to this law. What if the goverment "disowns" the individual i.e. takes ther property, money or family away even though they have done nothing wrong inc ertain cases as there being divorsed, or theyve been cond. The goverment, who assume s responsibility for its people but in not helping or allowing this person to fall to there state of living should, logicaly, have no right to penalis that individual for any crime they commit because they have given up all responsibilty for that individual.

Yet with out them, order would be futile. Government is bad but name another system that would benefit us any better then the worlds governments. i am not saying government is a wonderful thing, but its all we have...

Ok, a system in where politicians have seriously limited power, they only convey what the population says, they have no other power nor position. If people dont like something, they write to the government and the government is then expected to put it on some sort of media, TV/newspaper or something.

Then everyone (or at least those who have an IQ score higher than 100 or sumthing) researches it, studies it and sends in letters the the politicians of their district. The politicians then publish what people wrote in and the debate begins.

Presidents handle much lower jobs, like where to build roads (easily overwritable by standard people) and other minor things while people debate about things for the future of their country.

Crime would be punished and sentenced out by the president, any person who chooses to object the presidents claim, then everyone puts in what they think and what they think is the necessary punishemnent and the punishment is derived from those letter. (probably best with people with IQ more than 100)

This way, the government is just a dog, a conveyer or information. No conspiracies or other unethical acts by them.

if one thing is for certain a pure democracy would not work. Why? well lets say the people voted saying all people with brown eyes will be deported out of the country. How is that fair, that is more curropt then fair. (saying if the people with brown eyes had a less vote then people with different color eyes) Secondly, by limiting the vote by IQ, is unjust and not liberal. IQ does not tell the individual how smart he is. Plus what if you happen to not pass the IQ test, there goes your vote... i thought about this myself, what we have is the best that i know... sad to say

I agree out with the goverments but we would need something in its place i mean look at the alternatives like facism, communism, tyranny, dictatotrships, socialism, aristocracy etc etc i mean our goverments better and more liberal than these, so i think we need to change our goverment for the better draw up new plans

If you fail the IQ test you shouldnt have no right to vote >=)
Therefore, if only people with IQ+100 could vote, im pretty sure something like the eye colour thing would not happen.

What if we just went into an era of no goverments no law but just survival of the fittest, were people can do what they want i mean is total freedom and control over most of ur life better than having most of ur life run by a goverment who you have no personal dealings with ( peoples goverment my arse

If everyone is allowed to do what they want,that means people could kill who they want. I admit i am a coward, therefore i would like any government that will protect my life. One other thing, Freedom does not matter if you are dead...

No offense to either of you, but Kevo seems like the only one here with an IQ more than that of a cheese sandwich. A democratic government is the best possible system, that has been proven time and time again. Until you can come up with something better than what we have now and try to do something about it, quit complaining.

one other thing, i am aware the the U.S.A is becoming more socialist, yet with socialism our freedoms will disapear. Sad to say i perfer a captialist society, because if you are not happy with your state of living you have the power to change(most of the time). I just want the country our forefathers promised us many, many years ago.

yeah democracys are the best for liberty and freedom but what about choices in goverment matters i mean it depends on a number of varities in votes... democracys are great but which of the goverments in the world can you TRULY call a democracy - and u would be wrong to assume america or britian- and dont forget even democracys can become totalitarian.

Well, like Kevo already explained, a TRUE democracy would actually, to put in nice terms, completely suck ass.
