Robo World Cup For Robots

So back in August, shortly after the Olympic games, there was a different sort of international competition taking place in Bristol: The Fira Robo World Cup. Yes, robots from various places came together to participate in five days of AI competition. The games had a variety of sporting events, including football, basketball and weightlifting.

I'll post some videos up from the 2012 Robo World Cup, but here's one I found from the 2009 one that was held in Korea:

This is freakin hilarious, it's the 2012 sprinting competition - the robots have to sprint forwards and then back to where they started:
