Canadian Lynx |
New animal discovery for me - never heard or seen any images of this unusual and elusive feline. The Canadian Lynx finds it's home amid dense forests areas across northern Canada and Alaska, though there are also populations spread within certain regions in America like in Yellowstone National Park. The interesting thing about these cats is that they seem to have evolved and adapted to the cold north almost solely because of their main food source - the snowshoe hare. When there is a decline in snowshoe hare population, the population of the lynx also declines and then increases again as hare population rises again.
