Religious Wars

Is religion the source and/or cause of war or conflits in the world.

Whether in a big way or in an underlying cause.

No... greed, ignorance, and the desire to control and excel over others are, religion is just a context...

Faith no... but organized religion yes. Religion is just a way for people to increase power and control over one another. It is that power and control that cause war. Absolute power corrupts absolute and that's what I feel organized religion is doing.

Yes, organized religion.. however essentially its about greed, hunger for power... so yeah... i do agree with cryptic... humans need ways to achieve their ultimate goals... and they use whatever means they can.. religion is one of them..money... and unsuspecting sincere followers usually get used and abused along the process..

I would agree with her... Religion is a tool for people to gain power at the expense of others.

They say that when pondering on religions people can come to many conclusions... there are some that conclude that it is the truth.. and they really believe it to be so... so they act upon it with sincerity.. however there are some that know what it really is or they believe in their hearts that it isnt the truth, however you wish to see religion... and use it for their own power.. financial gain... ect... even if that power is only power over ones own wife and children...
