Scrap the Arctic |
I read somewhere that if the arctic melted sea levels would go up 30 m. Result; islands dissapper. I had a thought; if we could transport the icebergs over to America could these supply the water for Las Vegas and the Nevada desert? The water would have to stay contained; let it out into the atmosphere and it goes back into the sea. The other problem I could see is that you'd accelrate global warming because of the albedo effect of ice; it reflects light back. Assuming these problems aren't too big, could we cut chunks of it and transport it without it melting in the sea?
