Metric - Poster of a Girl

This girl is like a 20th century update of sex-kittenish Marilyn Monroe. Shes adorable, and can do the same sans make up and coiffed hair do. But my absolute favorite number by her is 'Siamese Cities' which I ha vent yet been able to find a video of.

Which means:
I know you don't like your reality

Wyote, my dedication was mainly because I know you love a killer beat..., which I think this song has.

But this song also made me think of you because of your age on the one hand (alas, a time of heart aches - as with the girl in the song). But also to remind you that (in spite of the bitches that have wounded yours) here is a chick who is pretty much in the same boat. I think her loneliness and vulnerability is very well portrayed in this song.

And yes..., there are some miserable perceptions but I think they are being portrayed rather than perpetuated (just my take on it). And the ray of sunshine from this perspective is that she (and by inference: you) remain young, beautiful, with all sexuality intact. Lonely perhaps, but really and truly it is no more than the metamorphosis of the heart.

When I listen to her singing the chorus 'poster of a girl..', I hear the tenderness of a youthful heart that 'feels just like a baby' but must nevertheless deal with some rough stuff.

And then the more sophisticated french voice is brought in(portrait of a lady?) which tells me she is in the process of metamorphosizing. There is a sad poignancy to it, but even so its beautiful. And that exact thing may apply to yourself...
