Land of the Blind |
I really enjoyed this film. It just came out on dvd last week, I believe. My friend at universal had been bugging me to see it and, after watching it, I finally can see why. It was a smart political thriller about an idealistic soldier (played by Ralph Fiennes) in a fictitious land (strikingly similar to ours) who loses his idealism in the midst of terrorism, revolution, and the corrupt politicians from whom he is taking his orders. It reminded me a lot of Stanley Kubrick films or Kurt Vonnegut novels. There is more information about the film at www.myspace.com/landoftheblindthemovie. I highly recommend it.
