Angels and Demons

i just finished reading angels and demons by dan brown but it seems that i can't find any relationship between the sequence of events in the book. if any has a different opinion plz do.

there is some relationship somewhere, but i think i've forgotten it.

the mad catholic who accidentaly became pope, killed the old pope because the old pope had had a son (which turned out to be the mad priest (MP from now on)). the mp then hired the assasin guy to steal the antimatter, which the mp was shown during a tour of cern, and also to kidnap the potential popes. the idea i think was that he wanted to show science as evil, and make it look like the illuminati were trying to destroy the catholic faith, so that he could defeat his set-up and make it look like the catholics were great.

the number you meant that was mentioned in the davinci code was the phi number which is approximately equal to the value of 1.16.
i guess if u read the book u would have considered it's importance.
