Deconstructing

Anyone know of any good movies worth deconstructing? I know everything by the Coen brothers can be deconstructed; same with all of the Matrix movies and everything by M. Night Shamalayan

well thats very vague. do you mean it in the sense of movies that are easy to pick apart multiple underlying messages? just about any movie can be "deconstructed" but Coen Bro and Shyamalan movies are more obvious in their "underlying" messages.

try looking at Sam Mendes stuff. maybe more difficult, but i can see lots of good symbolism in some of his movies.

then there is always Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Boondock Saints, Equilibrium.

anything really.

Well, I'm basically talking about deconstruction on any level. Archetypes, symbols, underlying messages..it's funny you should mention Boondock Saints; I've seen a lot of merchandise for it at Hot Topic and I've been searching through my satelite's search system and it's never on. is it any good?

boondock saints is a good movie. its basically an action movie, no underlying message there that you wouldn't find in the charles bronson movie death wish, although in that movie the message isn't as obscured with over stylized action sequences.
you could probably deconstruct any david lynch movie.
