What brand of computer do you use? What do you like about it? What do you dislike about it? What is you're biggest problem with it?

I have a good PC
it is an IBM (internet Broadcast Mudulator) aptiva (Active Porn Transmision Interception Video Allocator)- it works well it has
166mhz of pure power!
it has a gargantuan payload of 48 MB of RAM
my net goes at about 0.73 MB/second- not to bad- DSL
and i still have about 1/3 of my 2.1 GB hard drive free wow!
So that is the lowdown on my PC (porn connector)

Dislike- not enogh flashing lights- I would like to put some faux wood on it maybe- the CD drive does make a rather impressive wirling sound...

i dont know if anyone appreciates your humor as much as i do I R Me

anywho, i have a Dell (Pentium2 - 20GB hard drive- wireless internet), the main problem i have with it at the moment is that it does not work. when i obtain a new hard drive i will put it to great use (in a similar fashion as I R Me) other than that, its currently making a very nice paperweight whilst i use and abuse my parents computer (larger hard drive, slightly better all around).

Sounds wonderful IR!

Wyote, what's not working about yours?

I'm asking questions because Dell is about to get my new PC back. It's 9 days old today and something in it is causing my Java VM to not work. I have called and spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone with Dell reinstalling Java and reinstalling Java, being bounced from software support to hardware support to software support to technical support just to be put on hold for so long that I was hung up on. I sent them a letter after being hung up on and they still haven't been able to help me get my computer working properly again. I have found the setup file that I need for the Java VM through the site where I play my games but I have to reinstall every time I first want to play a game AND whenever I want to switch to a different game. I am at a loss now and sooooooooooooooo pissed off that it's not funny. LOL.

If any of you here have ideas my ears are open!

only things I can think of -
Go to macromedia.com and make sure you have a flash player- go to downloads look for the red 'F'- this a genuine site.
restore your defaults on IE tools/internetoptions/advanced tab
also try to navigate these game sites with your firewalls &/or virus protection turned off- these things help a lot but they can wreek havoc on your connections- Norton especially. I deal with Internet problems all the time and a lot of folks have probs with dell and there tech support as the majority of it is supplied through India- nothing againt East Indians just there can be some difficulty in Communication.

You could demand that the tower be replaced as well.

Good luck! - I would consider trading you computers as well if that does not work out..... but you'll have to sweeten the deal somehow- maybe put some Martha Stewart like paint job on it or some fauw wood venier...

Thanks for the suggestions IR! Tell me about the communication problem with Dell Customer Support. 1 out of the 4 people I talked to yesterday I couldn't hardly understand.

My computer was a self built one.
I have:

Amd 2800+ processor
1gig memory
2 hardrives- a 40 gig and a 60 gig
8500 radeon video card.
a DvD cd-rom
a cd burner
and DSL which i have to share over the LAN

I enjoy my computer a lot and like the fact that me and my dad put it together. Atleast then if you have any hardware problems you can atleast pinpoint it to the exact piece of hardware.

Yeah, I hear a lot of stories about people and how they really dislike dell and their tech support. I too don't even want to deal with them.

I myself don't know a lot about software so I would suggest finding a store that knows about computer software and ask them for some advice. Usually when computer companies are told that someone has a problem with their computer or software they go and say it is someone elses fault, so you should ask someone that won't do that.

I hate Dell; but have one just the same.

My computer is a Dell, has 60 gb hard drive, Intel Celeron processor 1.7ghz, cd burner and cd-rom drives, sucks all together, but worked fine when new a year ago.

I also had mine custom built...dual bios, turbo drive, Pent IV, 60 Gb HD, 512 Mb mem, sony 32x burner, sound blaster Sc, & windows xp Hversion. I am by no means an expert, all I know is when it fires up the lights dim and it gets me there fast. Now if it just made ice!
