MAKING MUSIC OUT OF MATH

Ive read up on chaos theory , and ive read up a bit on fractals... im not a student of math but i was wondering..
If we can take an equation and make drawings out of it.... ISNT IT TIME WE TAKE AN EQUATION AND MAKE MUSIC OUT OF IT? any body out there who has thoughts on this and knows how to do this or HAs done it?? Let me know....
like.... take the formula of a leaf and convert it to music.. time to hear what the world says when we learn how to finally listen!!!

Don't sing because i can't carry a tune and can't play a single musical instrument.
So take the musical scale and superimpose the outline on it?

this has already been done. ive heard what a few leaves sound like actually (in a music class i had in jr high). you would be surprised, what i heard wasnt particularly pleasing to the ear, but it was very different from anything i had ever heard before.
