What's your max? |
I was just wondering some peoples maxes on certain exercises, so here's my list and I'd like to see yours, and in case you were wondering I'm 5'5 and weigh 127. Strength Exercises: Bench-155 Close-Grip Bench-140 Squat-225 Power Exercises (combination of speed and strength): Power Cleans-148 Vertical Jump-32" Speed Squat-200 Dot Drill-I think around a minute Speed: 100m-10.8 seconds 200m-23.5 seconds 400m-54 Seconds

O yea I'd also like to add the percentages of my maxes, like how much percentage of my bodyweight I can do, which is a much truer shower of strength than just dead weight. Strength Exercises: Bench-122% Close-Grip Bench-110% Squat-177% Power Exercises (combination of speed and strength): Speed Squat-157% Power Clean-117%

I dont know any of my numbers except my vertical. My best vertical is 39" wow, a white man than can jump, lol, by the way I am 6' tall , basket ball is quite fun.

Lol 68, white men can jump. I can't jump though. I can bench about 250lbs. max, it was more during conditioning for football, but thats max now. My greatest accomplishment however is my max leg-press; about 900 lbs. on the leg press at 24hour fit, has been more before that at the school gym, it held more weight, but this was the max that the machine held.

I think I was born to be an Ox or something, he he he, pulling people around or ho'ing land. It is a process though, you have to make sure that when you strain yourself in a leg-press like that, that you don't relax... too much. LOL

DAMN! How do you people get so strong? My max when I started lifting 9 weeks ago was 110. How do you get that strong?

Well, hard work is a big part of it, but H.S. football was where I developed alot of the muscles that I keep building on. Our workout routine at the gym is, five days a week, a couple hours a day, so ya have to be determined and available. Also, I think strong legs run in my family, my 73 year old Grandma has rock hard calves that are strong as hell, she excercised everyday-a shopaholic, lol. Body mass is also a factor ya half to look at, are you a small; avg.; or big guy?

I'm a wimp. Can't squat over 135lbs as of yet, can't bench over 90. I have a weekly routine, but it's mostly just for maintenance. I don't push myself to gain strength anymore. Trying to motivante myself to get a bit more cardio going, but running on a treadmill is so boring .

Tell me about it Aura, I hate the treadmill...in fact I hate cardio all together, he he he. I wish I was one of those people who get a kick out of running, lol.

How to lift more weight? easy.. buy a good vitamin, a good creatine and drink energy drink(s) before going to the gym.

Good vites are important, and energy drinks help you get rolling...but all I know of the creatine is that it helps prevent your muscles from being so sore and cramping. Has anyone else had any good luck with creatine?

Creatine enhances muscle size and streght, cuts fat and gives you energy, mix the creatine with the vitamin and you'll see better results.

sound like some good figures their bro, i am up slightly on my lifts. i am currently trying to get into the best shape of my life brfore i hit 30. so that is giving me the motivation to stick at it. bench 180 x 8 3 time incline 150 x 8 3 times dips 30 x8 3x times pull overs 120 x8 x 2 that is my chest workout it takes me about 45 minutes which is perfect for me with 15 minutes cardio to warm up with. i find that creatine does not work for me apart from bloating. my fav suppliments are reflex instant whey flax seed oil multi vits holland and barret Noz like creatine but slightly diffrent and it gives great pumps.
