It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinions; it is easy in solitude to live after your own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Well some are destined to have children, others are not. Personally I rather enjoy kids and have been exposed to them a lot. I had a niece when I was 12 and currently have 4 nieces and a nephew. But, I am picky about soul mates and wouldn't just have kids for the sake of wanting them.

As for overpopulation the world has enough resources to manage a much higher population. The problem is that we all wouldn't get to live like an American. If the entire world consumed as many resources as America we would definitely be in trouble. So really overpopulation isn't a problem if we managed our resources properly.
