I must have missed something... What was the problem? I assumed the problem was "how to stop Irak from using WMDs?"
My solution was that Irak doesn't have WMDs. What am I friggin missing.

On the french mission in brazil : Um.. strange. The french did have authorization though, it isn't clear what the mission was.

But our government will always be privy to information that we can not have access to. Has our government abused this privilege (Yes), and it may be discovered that they did it to us again if they can't find WMD.

A resolution was put forward after Desert Storm that America could not go to war except for its own interests. I can't remember the exact wording, but it was something like that. This would prevent us from being the world police, which we cannot possibly be. It was shot down and not approved. Because there are still too many people who believe that we should be the world policemen. It comes from a time when our country was actually rich enough to buy the world. We are not that rich any more and we cannot offered to be the world police.

If you look into the lives of those people who believe we should be the world police. You will find they are not in the military. If they served at all, it was in the air force or national guard. They are clue less. They don't know what it is like to be away from home for long periods of time wondering if you will return to see your loved ones again. I will fight with those who have this attitude and not be ashamed of it. Bush Sr knows, that is why he did not go into Baghdad. Bush Jr. doesn't and that's why he took us there.

I think if the military is asked to fight another countries war. The military men and women should be asked to vote on it. But that will never happen, because military men and women are not protected by the constitution like the rest of us. I always thought that was so unfair when I was in the military. We took an oath to defend the constitution, even giving our lives for it, yet we were not protected by it. Criminals have more rights then those who serve our country. But that's another subject.

About the war protest timing thing, I think protests are alright any time of the war, even though I don't think they'll ever do anything. After seeing and hearing about so many protests, they no longer had an impact on me. I just saw people yelling and marching with signs and thought "Wow, I bet they wish they were somewhere else."
Anyway, I think as long as protests are "supporting the troops" (yeah, I know we've all heard it thousands of times in the past few months) they're ok. As long as the soldiers coming home from Iraq don't face the same situation they did coming home from Vietnam, I think protests any time are alright.

Perhaps so, but there is a difference between not telling Brazil there was 4 people on a mission and invading a country by force while at the same time disregarding world opinion, the EU and the UN.

You have to face the fact their are relatively few problems today. The real fascists are dead, europeans imperialism is gone and the cold war is over. There is nothing left that is a real threat, except the vague enemy which is "terror".
And I propose a solution to the Irak situation : give the UN the power to rebuild the country. The UN is far more likely to work for Irak's interest as opposed to the US who will likely only endorse Irakis who sell them cheap oil.
