Battered Mars Bars

Have you ever had a battered mars bar? I think they're scrummy! a frozen mars bar, covered in batter and then deep fat fried..yummy! *giggles*

could be an explanation why i'm so fat! lol

and I thought fried pickels was weird........lol

we don't have battered ones in canada. but i have a good friend in scotland who is absolutely wacky over them. she tells me i HAVE to try it, but i don't know how or where! unless i make it at home. haha.

fried pickles?? what the heck is that? just pickles in a frying pan?

lol..rollergirl you had to ask...here is the recipe


1 cup Flour
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon Black pepper
1/2 cup milk
1 Egg
1 1/2 cups Dill pickle slices, thin
Oil for frying

Mix the flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Lightly whip the egg in a
separate bowl. Add the milk to the egg. Heat the oil (about 2 inches) to
325. Dip the pickle slices first into the flour, then the egg mixture, and
finally back into the flour. Carefully place the pickles into the hot oil.
Do not overcrowd. Fry until golden brown (about 8 minutes), turning once.
Drain on paper towels. Serve warm.

I have never heard of either one and I think I will pass on both...

Kookie, I have been all over the US from the west coast to the east coast and all points in between and I have never seen nor heard of fried pickles before. Know that I have said that I will!! LOL
