"When the song first came out, a lot of us thought that it was about drugs. When you got high/stoned, you "felt" like you were in heaven. We never gave it much more thought than that.
I think any of the above are possible, seeing that Robert Plant and the others left it open for discussion and won't say for themselves. Maybe they wanted the song to have 2 meanings."
