Minutemen back on patrol in Arizona

THREE POINTS, Ariz. - Minuteman volunteers concerned about the continued flow of illegal immigrants across the border from Mexico gathered Saturday with lawn chairs, binoculars and cell phones for a new monthlong campaign aimed at raising public awareness of the issue.

A year after their first watch-and-report operation along the border in southeastern Arizona, members of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps embarked on a much larger effort in the busy migrant-smuggling corridor.

'I'm concerned about what's not being done by the government - hasn't been done for ages, apparently,' said J. Glenn Sorensen, a retired school administrator now living in Flagstaff.

MEXICO CITY - If Arnold Schwarzenegger had migrated to Mexico instead of the United States, he couldn't be a governor. If Argentina native Sergio Villanueva, firefighter hero of the Sept. 11 attacks, had moved to Tecate instead of New York, he wouldn't have been allowed on the force.

Even as Mexico presses the United States to grant unrestricted citizenship to millions of undocumented Mexican migrants, its officials at times calling U.S. policies "xenophobic," Mexico places daunting limitations on anyone born outside its territory.

In the United States, only two posts - the presidency and vice presidency - are reserved for the native born.

In Mexico, non-natives are banned from those and thousands of other jobs, even if they are legal, naturalized citizens.

Surge of volunteers expected to help illegal immigrants cross desert

A surge in the number of volunteers fanning out across Arizona's southern deserts to aid illegal immigrants is expected this summer.

The increase comes despite the ongoing prosecution of two volunteers arrested last summer on federal charges they intentionally conspired to transport illegal entrants, leaders of illegal immigrant aid groups said.

Shanti A. Sellz and Daniel M. Strauss, both 24, were arrested as they drove illegal entrants to a clinic on July 9 and face trial in October.

Leaders of two faith-based groups, No More Deaths and Samaritan Patrol, say they've signed up hundreds of volunteers to deliver food, water and medical aid to migrants illegally walking into the country from Mexico. No More Deaths alone has 500 registered volunteers, up from 300 last summer.

A third group, Humane Borders, puts water tanks in areas frequented by illegal migrants.

The groups are trying to reach an agreement with the U.S. Border Patrol spelling out legal ways they can provide humanitarian aid to illegal migrants.

So let me get this straight. We are at war and our borders are open, even though there is a HUGE militant drug and corruption war on it, there are more Americans being kidnapped in the Texas area than in Iraq.

We are sending National Guards with NO WEAPONS and no right to stop or detain illegal immagrants though during peace and especially war we have the right to arm and defend the border... Yet we are sending ARMED military, even Mexican military, into places like Louisiana after Katrina to confiscate American's weapons, not only is it illegal to send military to police Americans, its twice as illegal to have them or anyone else confiscate our weapons.

The "guest worker" program allows and even encourages corporations to import UNLIMITED skilled and unskilled labor, we are already breaking records of outsourcing manufacturing jobs (once the backbone of the American economy and the only thing keeping us from diving into a third world status) as well as importing labor and more exported jobs most notably in our Tech industry.

Illegal immagrants don't pay taxes, somehow get on welfare, take jobs by working for dirt wages and no benefits along with the result of lowering the pay of competitor jobs, clog hospitals, bring disease, have huge rallies supported and funded by American lobbyists with the blessing of Bush and Vicente Fox and the media while anti war demonstrations and bush dissenters are ostrisized and even mass arrested as in the case of the Republican National Convention...

Added to the border violence there was violence during the big immagrant marches, including stormed government buildings, a person stabbed with a mexican flag, teachers and swat teams trying to protect American Flags at school.

But what do you hear of this violence??? But you hear about Iraq??? So illegal immagrant apologists proclaim we don't need to secure the border, but that we should allow the government to spy on us??? What the fuck??? If we so much as speak our own opinion we may be branded a traitor and possibly arrested, especially for protesting, but if illegal aliens unwilling to pay taxes and legally become citizens break the law for six years, have family or hardships etc. They will be rewarded and even excused of other law violations.

I'm ready to kick some teeth in but I can't exactly blame those who are brainwashed by those they are supposed to trust. But our laziness and apathy taking away or skepticism of those in power, which is cliche in its ability to corrupt, is going to get us all poor, enslaved, and or tortured and dead.

We have no time left really to be waking up to the scope of corruption surrounding us. We have already had troops taking our guns, protesters mass imprisoned, invasion by foreign both intentionally and ignorantly detrimental and or even violent, while we are at war no less.

Ignorance of these things needs to stop, please turn off Fox News, get some credible indipendant media information while it still exists.

Read some history, something. For god's sake, this isn't a joke, its not some laughable conspiracy theory, most of this has been covered even in mainstream media, but usually only once while propaganda either ignoring these important facts or spinning them as good is repeated daily for months, years even. How long have you been hearing of Natalie Holloway? What the fuck is that shit?

Get a clue. We need to get active in stopping the lies and get some serious doses of truth.

Excerpt: Agents battle drug traffickers in border city

MEXICO CITY - More than 50 federal agents battled alleged drug traffickers in a shootout in the border city of Nuevo Laredo, officials said Saturday, the latest incident a wave of violence that has sparked criticism from the U.S. government.

Several people were killed in the gunbattle late Friday, said a spokeswoman with the federal attorney general's office. She could not confirm the number and requested anonymity because the agency was waiting to issue a formal statement on the incident.

Officers with the Federal Preventative Police were involved in the shootout, which lasted 40 minutes, according to an official with the agency who also requested anonymity.

On Saturday morning, federal agents in ski masks and body armor and six military Humvees packed with soldiers sealed off the scene of the shootout and refused to let journalists enter.

The soldiers refused to comment or confirm if they had been involved in the shooting.

Residents said they had heard constant gun fire and some shots sounded like they could have come from military-caliber weapons. Several houses on the edge of the scene were riddled with bullet holes.

Nuevo Laredo, across the Rio Grande from Laredo, Texas, has been beset with execution-style killings and shootouts as two drug cartels battle for billion-dollar smuggling routes into the United States.

The bloodshed is part of a wave of drug violence across Mexico this year that has claimed the lives of more than 1,500 people and included beheadings and the assassination of several police chiefs.

On Friday alone, there were a total of 14 drug-related killings in the states of Baja California, Guerrero, Michoacan and Sinaloa as well as the shootout in Nuevo Laredo, Mexican media reported.

U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Tony Garza urged Mexican authorities to try and bring order to the border area and on Thursday Mexican and U.S. officials met in Laredo.

On Friday, President Vicente Fox said that violent crime is worse in the United States than in Mexico, and the U.S. government should focus on its own problems.

The camps have been noted as being FEMA managed, for emergencies and even for illegal immagrants.

They are unlikely meant to keep people out of the US, if that was your meaning, due to the irrelevance caused by the current American Union being forged behind our backs in secret.

I think their highest likely use will be for natural or terrorist disasters of any kind by any source, prison overflow or new designs (including work camps), and ultimately for dissenters against tyranny.
