No Bandage For Our Pain |
Sometimes, no actually, often we think that there is a way for us to bandage our pain so that we don't feel it anymore. We think that if we convince ourselves of a certain perspective or convince ourselves that an event happened in a particular way that seems less agonizing, that the initial pain we felt will dissipate. But when do such bandages over our emotions actually work with permanency? The reality is that any perceived relief is just that, a perceived relief. Not a cure, not even a real pain killer. The blood of emotion always seeps through, eventually dripping from the edges, telling you it's still there. When something happens to you in your life, no matter how small an event it may seem like from a third person perspective, if it causes you pain, that pain is your mind screaming at you, trying to tell you something. And no band-aid, no drug, no amount of sex and all the money in the world will not stop that pain from trying to be heard. The only solution is to listen to it. And understand what it's trying to tell you.
