Guilt
This thread is for any serious discussion on the topic of guilt from a psychological standpoint. I don't know very much about it but the little I have learned has caused me to notice things my intuition has pointed out to me many times before.

One side effect of guilt that I have read about is fractured personalities i.e. people pleasers, apologizers, over-compesaters etc. (I'm not positive these are the actual names but you get the idea.)

http://sfhelp.org/popIF/guilty_child.htm - the site that I read about this (above.)

Another aspect I'd like to explore is any possible treatment for these ?disorders?

Any reference from a book, magazine, website or from personal experience regarding either treatment or analysis of guilt will be acceptable on this thread.

I want this thread to be academic and geared toward education of anyone who reads it. So do not post information without a reference of some sort.
